Surrounded by family and love, Kara Lynn Larson passed on the baton of life and bravery at her home in the early morning hours on Saturday, May 28. Kara lived life fully, with a twinkle, generous heart, and unwavering strength. Even during her 14-month walk with cancer, she inspired all of us around her to be more present, spend more time with family, and follow our dreams.
She’s encouraged us to “Wear More Dresses” and “Hope+Dream+Think+Play.”
To honor Kara, Grasshopper & Tumbleweed will be closed on Monday, May 30th and Tuesday, May 31st.
In Kara’s honor, grab a loved one, go find some nature, play, dance, and throw on a dress.
Both stores will reopen with regular hours on Wednesday, June 1st and will continue to be inspired by her vitality.
We’re grateful for her customers and all who’ve found inspiration from her designs and stores. She’s indebted to her rock star staff who are like family, and for their hard work, love and helping continue her vision.
We’ll be planning a “Celebration of Kara” for to all who loved her force of nature to share memories at later date with details TBD and posted on the store blogs and instore.
In Lieu of Flowers, her Family asks that donations be made to the Wilshire Riverside Little League in her honor at www.wilshireriversidell.org/sponsors
In of her final words, she said that she’d be cheering at the ballpark and cheering us all on to follow our dreams.
With deep gratitude,
John, Will(Billy) and the gals at Tumbleweed and Grasshopper
