some days, there will be a piece or two in the shop that customers seem to gravitate to over and over - this weekend, a few tops from one of our newest lines, seneca rising, were grabbing lots of attention

gauzy sweaters with unexpected lines... tunics with interesting piecing...

becca from seattle went home with a pretty sweater

don't worry - there are still a few pieces left...

local favorite: loyly sauna

to call it a monsoon would be an exaggeration, but the rain is really coming down in portland today

people are dashing down the street from car to cafe, from shop to shop

it's a perfect day to spend at loyly, a scandinavian-inspired sauna in se portland

 

warm up in the sauna and steam room, relax with a warm foot soak, get a massage...

all in the most beautifully simple, minimalist setting

 

sounds like the perfect thing to do for the body on a day like today

angie's been shopping in tumbleweed for years - ever since she moved into the neighborhood, just up the street

in that time she's acquired a great collection of slips and some beautiful kara-line pieces

most recently, to show off the ruffles of a vintage slip she found here, she picked up a silk kara-line simone dress with the sweetest print

 

we're definitely in the depths of autumn

the early setting sun is making it hard to take photos in the shop...

 

but it's perfect weather for warm tights, tall boots, and cozy sweaters - all perfect to layer with kara-line

it just happened that a customer took a liking to the one i was shooting

susanna practices accupuncture down the street at vital energy

she looked adorable in her new dress - a kara-line giovanna in cozy wool

it would be great over a long-sleeved shirt or worn with a sweet cardigan

she layered it over a pretty red slip, some warm tights, and the cutest striped socks

and it's perfect with her boots

they're as light as air... like little sculptures for your ears

we can barely keep these beauties in stock - they're so perfect as a base under sheer dresses,  layered with kara-line pieces, poking out under the hem of a lovely frock...
